Nature and Wildlife

You needn’t leave the park to spot some of the brilliant local wildlife. There are creatures to watch in the sky, on land and in the loch.

Here is a selection of creatures great and small to spot at Resipole:
 

• Otter
• Seal
• Porpoise
• Red deer
• Roe deer
• Pine marten
• Insects, including moths, butterflies and dragonflies
• Bat
• Birds – tree pipit, wood warbler, willow warbler, cuckoo, woodpecker, house martin, swallow, raven
• Water birds – heron, oystercatcher, mallard, black-throated diver, red-breasted merganser, greylag goose
• Birds of prey – merlin, buzzard, golden eagle, sea eagle
   

For lichenologists, there are incredible lichens to be found at Resipole, some of them very rare. This is also a great place for horticulturalists and foragers.
